The Pilikula Regional Science Centre (PRSC) has been set up jointly by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) under Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India with active support of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Karnataka.The Centre is located at Pilikula near Mangaluru and is administered by a Society for which Deputy Commissioner of the district is the Chairman.
The Centre, through its interactive science exhibits and free choice science learning activities, is expected to cater to the large population of the region.
The Science Centre is set up in an area of 10 acres, having a built up area of approx. 4000 sq.m.It houses 3 exhibition galleries, a temporary exhibition hall, an inflatable dome planetarium, science demonstration area, activity area, an air conditioned auditorium, a 3D theatre facility, a library, conference hall, computer room, a small workshop for maintenance of exhibits and other public facilities. There is also a Science Park which includes a Dinosaur Park, in a lush green garden area outside the Science Centre building.
Lunar eclipse programme organised at Kulashekar, Mangaluru held on 31.01.2018. About 600 people witnessed the same.
